Buy credits and change your plan
In Matterial, AI runs on Matterial Credits: a monthly pool that your whole company shares (from 200 on Free up to 25,000 on Enterprise). From the Credits screen you can see how many you have left, buy more whenever you need them, and upgrade your plan as your team grows. Here's how to do it step by step, with no surprises on your bill. The screen shows up in your language (Spanish, English, or Portuguese) based on your user preference.

- Everything lives in Credits (/creditos), with two tabs: Credits (balance and top-up purchases) and Billing (plans and payment method).
- Matterial Credits are a monthly pool shared across the whole company; only AI actions spend them, and most modules work without them.
- A top-up buys extra credits instantly: they land in your credit bank and don't expire when your plan renews.
- Changing plans with an active subscription charges only the prorated difference to your saved card, right away.
- Your card, your invoices, and cancellation are all managed in Stripe's secure portal.
- 1
Open the Credits screen
Go to Credits from the menu. At the top you'll see the Matterial Credits heading and two tabs: Credits and Billing. You start on Credits.
- 2
Check your balance before you buy
The card at the top shows your current plan, the Matterial Credits available from your monthly pool, and a bar with how much you've used so far. Below it, you'll see an estimate of days remaining based on your usage pace, so you can tell whether you really need more.
- 3
Buy a top-up (extra credits)
Tap 'Buy credits' on the balance card; it takes you to the 'Need more credits?' section. Pick a package and tap 'Buy': that sends you to Stripe's secure checkout. When you come back, you'll see the 'Payment received!' notice and the credits post within seconds. These credits land in your bank and don't expire when your plan renews.
- 4
Change or upgrade your plan
Tap 'Upgrade plan' or open the Billing tab. Under 'Compare plans', switch between Monthly and Annual (annual saves 20%) and tap 'Choose' on the plan you want. On Enterprise the button reads 'Contact us', which opens an email to get a custom quote.
- 5
Confirm the prorated charge
If you already have an active subscription, the change applies instantly and Stripe charges only the prorated difference for the cycle to your saved card; you'll get an email with the summary. If you're still on Free, it takes you to Stripe's checkout to enter your card for the first time.
- 6
Manage your card, invoices, and cancellation
In the Billing tab, under 'Payment method and invoices', tap 'Manage payment and invoices'. That opens Stripe's secure portal, where you can update your card, download invoices, and cancel or change your subscription.
Frequently asked questions
What happens if I run out of credits?
The AI action stops, but the rest of Matterial keeps working (most modules don't use AI). To keep going, buy a top-up or upgrade your plan from the Credits screen and you're right back in business.
Are credits per person or per company?
They're a monthly pool shared across the whole company, from 200 on Free up to 25,000 on Enterprise. Everyone draws from the same pool; in the 'AI usage log' you can see who spent what and on which project.
Do top-up credits disappear when the month renews?
No. Credits you buy as a top-up land in your credit bank and don't expire when your monthly pool renews, so they roll over and you can use them whenever you need them.
