Take roll call for your crew
Roll call in Matterial takes one tap per worker: everyone starts out present, so you only mark the exceptions. You can also dictate it by voice. And since jobsites don't always have a signal, everything saves even when you're offline.
- Everyone starts out present — you only flag absences, late arrivals, or half days.
- The whole roll call saves with a single tap.
- You can dictate it by voice and the AI suggests the marks.
- Offline, your marks queue up and sync the moment you're back online.

The quick roll call opens with everyone in green (present). Tap anyone who's out to cycle through their status: present → half day → late → absent → medical leave.

Or dictate by voice
Tap the microphone and say who was out or came in late. The AI proposes the marks; you review them and apply.
Frequently asked questions
Can I take roll call without internet?
Yes. Roll call saves on your device even with no signal and uploads on its own once you reconnect; the status bar tells you how many changes are still waiting to sync.
How do I copy yesterday's list?
The quick roll call has a “copy from yesterday” button: it pulls in the previous day's marks, and you just adjust what changed.
Does attendance calculate payroll?
Yes. If you have permission to view costs, attendance feeds the weekly payroll report (a half day pays half the daily wage).
